Central University at Sunabeda

Central University will be established at Sunabeda, in the 450 acre of land at Sunabeda., 17 kilometer away from Koraput, R D Sahay, Director Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD) has informed the Department of Higher Education (DHE) here on 23 July. There had two choices to set up Central University, one is at Koraput & another at Sunabeda. However the team reportedly favored the Sunabeda site.

Higher Education Minister Debi Prasad Mishra said, the department would prepare a short-term action plan for five years for 2020, according to the task force to improve the quality of education.

Advanced Communication and Language Laboratory will be set up in each of 30 districts to improve language proficiency and personality development of students and teachers.

A committee will be constituted under the chairmanship of Higher Education Secretary to to encourage Sanskrit learning among the students. The Minister informed that, the Public Service Commission has been requested to recruit 328 junior lectures and fill up vacant posts in non authorized colleges.
